What is a Dreamharp?
A Dreamharp is a handcrafted string and resonance instrument designed for intuitive playing. Its open pentatonic tuning allows the strings to be played freely, without needing to know chords, scales or music theory.
Each Dreamharp is created from an individual piece of wood. Its grain, shape and natural character become part of the instrument, while the strings and resonating body create a spacious, layered sound.
Made for listening, improvisation and exploration, every Dreamharp develops its own voice.
How do you play a Dreamharp?
You do not need to be a musician to play a Dreamharp. The strings can be plucked individually, played in flowing patterns or gently swept with the fingers.
Because the notes of the pentatonic tuning naturally work together, you can explore the instrument freely without worrying about playing a “wrong” note.
Some people begin with a simple rhythm, others follow the sound from string to string. There is no fixed way to play. The Dreamharp invites you to listen, respond and discover your own way of making music.

Tuned to 432 Hz
Our Dreamharps are tuned with A = 432 Hz as their reference pitch. Together with the pentatonic tuning and the natural resonance of the wood, this contributes to the characteristic sound of the instrument.
As the strings vibrate, they produce not only their fundamental tones but also a rich spectrum of overtones, creating the spacious and layered sound of the Dreamharp.
Each Dreamharp begins with the wood
No two pieces of wood are the same. Grain, colour, natural markings and shape all influence the character of the instrument that emerges. Rather than forcing every Dreamharp into an identical form, we allow the wood to become part of the design.
Each instrument is shaped and finished by hand. Symbols and carvings can become part of its individual story, while the resonating body, strings and wood come together to create its own voice.
The result is not simply an instrument to play, but a unique piece of craftsmanship made to be heard, touched and lived with.
